How do I apply for financial aid?
All students interested in applying for financial aid should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) Application as soon after January 1st of the
year you will begin college as you are able. You do not need to wait until you have been admitted to a university. You will be asked to provide the Federal School Code on the FAFSA (provided on the left).
Filing early is crucial because funds might be limited. It is recommended that you check with the institutions you are considering so that you meet their deadlines.
Pennsylvania undergraduate students should note the FAFSA must be completed by May 1 to be considered for a Pennsylvania State Grant.
Students who complete the FAFSA will be considered for the Federal Pell Grant, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), the Pennsylvania State Grant, the Federal Perkins Loan, the Federal Direct Loan, the Federal Work-Study Program, and other need-based scholarships. Some universities might have a separate application to be completed for consideration of institutional aid.
