Welcome to the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education Alternative Retirement Plan (ARP) website. This site provides information for System employees on the defined contribution retirement plan alternative established July 1, 2003.

New Employees
New employees in the process of selecting a retirement plan may want to click on System Retirement Program for general information on the three retirement plan choices available to them. The Retirement Program Forms page contains the System's Retirement Program Election Form.

New Employees and Employees Enrolled in the TIAA-CREF Retirement Plan
To learn more about the ARP choices, click on Alternative Retirement Plan for general plan information or click on ARP Participating Companies for specific information about the four ARP participating companies and links to the companies' websites.

Employees Enrolled in the TIAA-CREF Retirement Plan
Visit the Retirement Program Forms page to access the Alternative Retirement Plan Allocation Change Form. Those who do not wish to select a new company will automatically be enrolled in the ARP and do not need to complete any form.
