The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs provides both leadership and support to PASSHE Universities in the areas of academic programming and student services and support, specifically-

• Approval of new academic majors and minors
• Periodic review of existing academic and student support programs
• Student transfer policy
• Faculty Professional Development Council
• Grants and sponsored programs

Academic and Student Affairs is the home of specific academic services and initiatives:

The Pennsylvania Academy for the Profession of Teaching and Learning, dedicated to effective teacher preparation and continuing professional development programs for those engaged in the educational process;

Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, which promotes the development, implementation and encouragement of policies and initiatives that support diversity;

The Keystone Library Network, which consists of and provides access to the 14 PASSHE University libraries and the State Library;

Distance Education, provides access to PASSHE University quality courses, degrees and certificates through the use of the Web and other technologies;

Dixon University Center, which provides opportunities for degree and non-degree programs and services in Harrisburg through partnership with multiple public and private colleges and universities as well as hosting conferences and events;

Grants, which promotes PASSHE's involvement in external grant and contract opportunities in support of research, scholarly, and public service activities.

The Office also is the Chancellor’s liaison to PASSHE Universities' Chief Academic Officers, Chief Student Affairs Officers, Honors Program Directors, Deans of Education, Graduate Deans, International Directors, and Grant Officers.
