The Office of Social Equity has the primary responsibility of advancing the Chancellor's initiatives of creating and maintaining an environment that is free of unlawful discrimination and harassment for Office of the Chancellor employees, as well as acting as a resource for advancing these initiatives at all Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) Universities. This is accomplished by collaborating with multiple divisions and offices so that social equity becomes key in purpose, planning, and problem solving.
The role of the Special Assistant to the Chancellor supports these ideals through regular employee training, drafting and administering Office of the Chancellor Social Equity policies, mediating employee disputes and investigating allegations of discrimination and harassment.
Should an Office of the Chancellor employee be subject to or a witness of any act of harassment or discrimination in violation of Office of the Chancellor Policy, the incident should be reported to the Special Assistant to the Chancellor or in accordance with the applicable Office of the Chancellor Policy.
