Using Technology to Engage Students
This session will explore ways to create a more interactive and varied online course by using multimedia and technology. Examples include Xtranormal movies, interactive exercises, video, and Web-based content. Participants will be invited to share some of the strategies they are employing to move away from the reliance on text to deliver content.

Sandy King is an associate professor of communications and the coordinator of The Academy of Excellence at Anne Arundel Community College. She has taught intercultural communications and public speaking online for many years and has a certificate in Teaching at a Distance from UMUC. Sandy also has an M.A. in Communications from The University of Maryland, College Park, and a M.A. in Humanities from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
