Teaching a fully online course for the first time can be a formidable task for an instructor who is new to online pedagogy. This presentation demonstrates a template-approach that highlights best practices for online course structure and content management. The templates will provide guidance to improving the instructional design of homework assignments, quizzes, exams, discussions, projects and participation. Reflections and lessons learned from over ten years of experience with online instruction will frame the presentation and discussion.
