Creating Learner Friendly Online Learning Environments - Lessons Learned
Online and mobile learning is being utilized more and more as we expand our growth as a mobile society. Today’s time-strapped society is looking for ways to accomplish all that needs to be done. This is coupled with the information overload that bombards people as the proliferation of information continues to be gathered, stored and synthesized thanks to computers and the internet. With this rapid growth, comes the need to educate, train, and retrain the workforce rapidly. Workers need the right information, at the right time, in the right place. Human centered design principles of safety, comfort and efficiency are imperative to insure the design of these online training systems meet the needs of the people that utilize them. It is important that the technology used become ubiquitous so that the technology does not get in the way of the learning.
