One of the concepts that have been circulating in the eLearning world the last few years has been the use of subject matter experts to write the content to create rapid eLearning. One of the pitfalls to this approach is what do you do when your SME really isn't a writer. More importantly, what happens when the content that your SME “wrote” infringes on the copyright of other people. This session will provide a basic overview of what exactly copyright and intellectual property rights are and provide some ideas on how to determine if your SME “borrowed” content from another source.
