Conversation about Mobile Learning

The exploding growth of hand held devices (almost 370 million tablets sold by 2016) will change the way we teach and learn. This in-depth session will provide participates with a showcase of educational mobile apps for all types of mobile devices, as well as rubric for determining standards of quality for apps. Participants will receive resources aligning mobile apps to their device and discipline from PreK-Ph.D. In addition, this presentation will grab mobile learning by the hand held device and examine challenges to implementing a mobile learning initiative including standards for finding quality apps for use in teaching different disciplines that work on tablets and Smartphones, faculty development strategies for supporting the adoption of mobile learning pedagogies and tools, institutional policies, and competing technologies.
