Grant Seeking:

The purpose of grant seeking at the System Office level is to promote the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education’s involvement in external grant and contract opportunities in support of research, scholarly, and public service activities.  The goal is to achieve excellence in the State System Universities by enabling program expansion or development, with focus on the strategic areas of Science, Technology and Health; Applied Research; and Teacher Education. The effort will support collaborative initiatives of three or more System Universities.

Grant seeking services include:

  • Research and promote externally funded opportunities with a focus on System-wide benefit and collaborations between and among three or more Universities.

  • Provide both leadership and support in developing proposals for local, state, and federal government contracts, foundations, and related associations.

  • Work with university grants officers, faculty, administration, community and government representatives, and others to identify and secure funding opportunities of mutual benefit.

  • Ensure the System Office has adequate grant management procedures and practices which support grant proposal development and project implementation
