The State System participates in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Deferred Compensation Plan currently administered through Great West. This program allows employees to contribute to a long-term savings plan on a pre-tax basis up to amounts allowed by the IRS.

TIAA-CREF One-on-One Sessions

Caz Seweryn from TIAA-CREF Financial Services will be on site June 5, 2013, from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at DUC.  A location for Vartan Way is to be determined.

Voluntary Supplemental Retirement Plan - Deferred Compensation Plan Changes

New Features Available with Deferred Compensation Program

  • Great West, the third party administrator for the Deferred Compensation program is now able to offer employees a Roth 457 option.  Roth contributions are deducted from after-tax pay and investment earnings in the Roth account are tax-free.  Qualified withdrawals from the Roth account are not federally taxable.
  • Other administrative enhancements that are now in effect are the Deferred Compensation Service Center and Deferred Compensation website.  The Service Center can be contacted at 1-866-737-7457 and are able to answer any questions employees may have.  Once enrolled in the deferred compensation program, employees are also able to make any paycheck contribution elections and changes via the Deferred Compensation website www.sers457.com
  • Employees are still encouraged to meet with their Deferred Compensation representative when newly enrolling or if you have any questions on investment options, managed account services, and leave deferral payouts upon retirement.  The schedule for 2013 will be published at a later date.
  • New enrollment forms have been updated on the Deferred Compensation website which includes the Participant Enrollment, Paycheck Election, and Beneficiary Designation.  Please note all forms should now be sent to the Great West Service Center at the following address:  Great-West Retirement Services, PO Box 173764, Denver, CO  80217-3764, or given to your Deferred Compensation representative.  Forms may also be faxed to 1-866-745-5766.
