General Labor Employment Legislation

Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994 (Posted  September 2001): The primary purposes of this Act are "to improve reemployment rights and benefits of veterans and other benefits of employment of certain members of the uniformed services", and to encourage participation in the National Guard and armed forces reserves. The U.S. Department of Labor, Veterans' Employment and Training Services (VETS) provides advisory information regarding the application and requirements of the Act. Additionally, " Questions and Answers for Employers and Employees who participate in the National Guard and Reserve " have been provided by the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).
