West Chester University’s Council of Trustees Chair Thomas A. Fillippo has been a community and business leader for more than 50 years. He is chairman of the board of Devault Foods, where he had been president and CEO since 1970.
Fillippo is on the Board of Directors at DNB Financial Corp. He formerly served as chair of the Paoli Hospital Foundation board; the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry; and the Chester County Industrial Development Authority. He is also former president of the Great Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Pennsylvania Association of Meat Processors.
He has been inducted into the Chester County Economic Development Council’s Chester County Business Hall of Fame and has received many business and community service awards.
A WCU alumnus, Fillippo earned his bachelor of science degree in kinesiology in 1969. He is one of the University’s Distinguished Alumni Award winners and has long supported the institution. In 2011, he was inducted into the WCU Sturzebecker Sports Hall of Fame and in 2016 received the Ram Pride Award. As center for the Golden Rams football team when he was a student, he played in two Tangerine Bowls.
Continuing his longtime connection with the University, Fillippo is the Council of Trustees representative on the West Chester University Foundation Board of Trustees and a member of the Sturzebecker Foundation board.
