Dr. Philip K. Way was selected to serve as interim president of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania effective July 21, 2017. He previously spent four years as the university’s provost and vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Way has a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Cambridge University and both a Master of Arts degree in industrial relations and a Ph.D. in industrial and business studies from the University of Warwick. He also served as a visiting fellow at both Harvard University and the University of South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Prior to coming to Slippery Rock, Dr. Way served for six years as associate provost for undergraduate programs at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and for a year as senior associate dean of arts and sciences. He spent more than 20 years at the University of Cincinnati, mostly as a member of the Department of Economics faculty, where he began as an assistant professor. Dr. Way began his academic career as a research assistant at Nuffield College of Oxford University in England.
