Rep. Brad Roae

Rep. Brad RoaeBrad Roae was first elected to the state House of Representatives from the 6th Legislative District in northwestern Pennsylvania in the Nov. 7, 2006, General Election.

Roae serves as Republican chairman of the House State Government Committee. He previously served as chairman of the House Commerce and House Consumer Affairs committees.

Roae in 2019 was appointed to a position on the PASSHE Board of Governors.

Prior to serving in the state Legislature, Roae from August 1992 to November 2006 was a commercial underwriter with Erie Insurance. He earned numerous professional accreditations and designations, and taught as an instructor at the insurance institute. He graduated from Maplewood High School (Guys Mills) in 1985 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Gannon University in 1990.

Roae served for 23 years as a volunteer firefighter and 18 years as a volunteer EMT with the East Mead Volunteer Fire Department. He previously served as an assistant scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 231. Roae earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

He is a member of Saint Agatha’s Roman Catholic Church in Meadville. Roae and his wife, Dana, have been married for 25 years and reside in East Mead Township. They have three adult children.
