Sam Smith served as a state representative for nearly 30 years, representing portions of Jefferson and Indiana counties. He served four years as Speaker of the House from 2011 to 2015. He is chairman of the Council of Trustees at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and serves on the Punxsutawney College Trust, which supports IUP’s branch campus. He has a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Pennsylvania State University.
