Below are resources from the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. The information contained within aims to support efforts to build and maintain diverse, equitable, and inclusive State System of Higher Education.  Please contribute to this evolving list of resources and partner with us to create spaces where all students, faculty, and staff can thrive and make an impact on their campuses and beyond.

Last year, the Board of Governors affirmed a systemwide DEI Strategic Framework as a foundation to our collective work. This resources page is organized in alignment with the five strategic priorities that are described in the framework, which emerged from months of working sessions, stakeholder interviews, and other critical dialogues with stakeholder groups.

The five strategic priorities are:

  • Faculty, Staff, and Student Diversity

  • Inclusive Communities

  • Equitable Outcomes

  • Curriculum Diversity

  • Enabling Infrastructures

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’s staff is privileged to support your efforts and we look forward to all the impactful work to come with our steadfast commitment to student success and continuous collaborations. As always, we welcome the opportunity to hear your thoughts at dei@passhe.edu.

Faculty, Staff, and Student Diversity

Our goal is to increase faculty, staff, and student diversity. Diversity and academic excellence are co-dependent. Demographic diversity refers to the creation of environments where students, faculty, and staff can thrive, and thus is at the core of the State System and universities’ missions.

Inclusive Communities

Our goal is to build and maintain inclusive communities at all universities and the Office of the Chancellor. Inclusive communities are places where students, faculty, and staff feel welcomed, valued, and respected; and they feel a sense of belonging.

Equitable Outcomes

Our goal is to eliminate student attainment gaps that persist by race, region, and income while improving outcomes for all students. Our systemwide data reflects unacceptable gaps in student outcomes including when disaggregated by race and ethnicity. To address these inequities, Student Success is now measured and prioritized as one of the State System’s Board-Affirmed Metrics.

Curriculum Diversity

Our goal is to offer students curriculum and pedagogies across the universities that reflect human, societal, and intellectual diversity.

Enabling Infrastructures

Our goal is to ensure the State System and universities have the resources, incentives, strategies, and accountability strategies in place to ensure continued progress toward DEI goals. These enabling infrastructures are necessary to support faculty, staff, and students in their work towards the other four strategic priorities.
