A new “Enhanced Sick Leave Payout Program" has been approved, and will provide eligible faculty members with two opportunities to receive an increased sick leave payout, as follows.

  • ​Eligible faculty member who submit a letter of intent to retire between January 12, 2021 and March 15, 2021, with an effective date of retirement on or before June 30, 2021 (the "First Window") will receive the highest level of increased sick leave payout, as follows:

  • ​Eligible faculty members who submit a letter of intent to retire between March 16, 2021 and September 30, 2021, with an effective date of retirement between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022 (the "Second Window") will receive an increased sick leave payout, as follows:

All submitted retirements will be irrevocable.

​Eligibility

Active, regular full-time faculty and tenured, regular part-time faculty members
who have met the eligibility criteria for majority paid retiree healthcare at the time of retirement, as follows:

  • Meeting the required years of service on or before March 15, 2021
  • Meeting the required age (if applicable) on or before the effective date of retirement

Procedure for Participation

  • Submit a retirement letter to your university human resources office no later than March 15, 2021 for a retirement date on or before June 30, 2021, (the "First Window") OR

  •  Submit a retirement letter to your university human resources office between March 16, 2021 and September 30, 2021 for a retirement date between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022 (the "Second Window")
