Rosemont College will begin offering programs in hospitality management, organizational development, counseling psychology and management this fall at the Dixon University Center.

The suburban Philadelphia college will join a consortium of 10 public and private institutions – including six State System of Higher Education universities – that offer courses at the facility.

“Rosemont College is pleased to be a part of this educational collaboration,” said the school’s president, Dr. Margaret M. Healy. “The Dixon University Center is an educational ‘gem’ for the citizens of Pennsylvania, and we look forward to many years of association with the center and with other institutions of the consortium.”

Rosemont will provide undergraduate degree completion programs in hospitality management and organizational development, a Master of Arts degree in counseling psychology and a master of science in management degree. Both of the undergraduate programs and the Master of Science in management program will be offered in an accelerated format, with classes being held evenings and weekends in five-week sessions.

The counseling psychology degree will be offered as a traditional evening program, with each class meeting one evening a week for 14 weeks each semester.

The two degree completion programs to be offered by the college will enable students to finish a bachelor’s degree in either of the two areas of study. Students will need to take or to have taken about half of the required courses at another institution.

Founded in 1921, Rosemont College is an independent liberal arts institution in the Catholic tradition. Building on its historic commitment to the undergraduate education of women, the College has expanded to include a School of Continuing Studies and a Graduate School, both of which are open to women and men.

The State System of Higher Education operates the Dixon University Center. It provides both academic and meeting and conference facilities for the Capital region.

Currently, more than a dozen undergraduate and graduate degree programs and a variety of continuing education opportunities are offered at the center, and more are planned. The colleges and universities involved and the programs they offer include:
