Harrisburg - The following open letter was sent today to California University of Pennsylvania
by PASSHE Board of Governors Chairman Guido M. Pichini:
Open Letter to California University of Pennsylvania:
As chairman of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education’s Board of Governors,
I want to thank you for your commitment to and support of your university. I want
to assure everyone in the California University of Pennsylvania family that you have
my full support, as well as that of the entire Board, as we jointly strive to put
into place a smooth transition of leadership at Cal U.
Students, please know that your interests always come first in every decision we make
and every action we take. There is no more important responsibility for us as a Board
than to help ensure that you have an outstanding educational experience that leads
to your ultimate success. This is a time of great opportunity and growth, and you
deserve and have our complete support in achieving your goals.
To all campus staff, faculty and administration, know that your dedication to the
university is truly appreciated. Your combined efforts have helped to create a campus
of which all of us involved with PASSHE can be rightly proud. The excellent work you
do never goes unnoticed.
To all Cal U alumni, please stay connected to your university. As an alumnus of Kutztown
University of Pennsylvania, one of your sister institutions, I understand and appreciate
the feelings you have for your alma mater. Please continue to be engaged in campus
life, whether by returning to campus as a visitor, investing in your university financially,
or by serving as a volunteer at campus events or as a representative of the university
in your community. You are our best ambassadors for California University throughout
this great Commonwealth and throughout the country.
To the university’s business and civic partners, please be assured that Cal U. will
continue to play a strong and vibrant role in the region, and will continue to need
and value its relationships with you.
As with all change, there no doubt will be many opportunities ahead. I am more confident
now than ever that working as a team, as you have in the past, will ensure California
University’s future possibilities are endless. Thank you for the invaluable role you
play in making this university a success!
Sincerely,
Guido M. Pichini
