STATE SYSTEM BOARD EXTENDS PRESIDENTS’ CONTRACTS
Contact: Kevin Hensil, khensil@passhe.edu
The State System of Higher Education’s Board of Governors has extended the contracts of 12 of its university presidents through June 30, 2002.
The Board approved the one-year extensions based on the positive recommendations of each of the president’s council of trustees and State System Chancellor James H. McCormick.
State System university presidents, when hired, receive a three-year “rolling” contract, which is subject to annual review by the council of trustees at the institution served by the president. At the end of each of the yearly leadership evaluations, each of the councils makes a recommendation to the Board on whether it believes its president’s contract should be extended by an additional year.
The Board of Governors makes the final determination on the contract status of all 14 presidents.
Presidents whose contracts have been extended by Board action are:
· Madeleine Wing Adler, who has been president at West Chester University of Pennsylvania since 1992.
· Angelo Armenti Jr., California University of Pennsylvania (1992).
· Joseph A. Caputo, Millersville University of Pennsylvania (1981).
· Anthony F. Ceddia, Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania (1981).
· Robert J. Dillman, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (1996).
· John R. Halstead, Mansfield University of Pennsylvania (1998).
· Jessica Sledge Kozloff, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania (1994).
· David E. McFarland, Kutztown University of Pennsylvania (1988).
· Lawrence K. Pettit, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (1992).
· Frank G. Pogue, Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (1996).
· Diane L. Reinhard, Clarion University of Pennsylvania (1990).
· Craig D. Willis, Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania (1982).
