The Strategic Sourcing Office supports the State System’s universities and the Office of the Chancellor. The office is responsible for identifying strategic sourcing opportunities and establishing best value contracts in partnership with suppliers. Strategic Sourcing identifies the best value strategy for each category to support the educational mission of the State System and its universities.
The Strategic Sourcing Office conducts enterprise-wide procurements for the 14 universities and the Office of the Chancellor and includes the following:
Requirements Gathering – determine the who, what, where, when, and how much of a good or service is needed; provide project management throughout procurement lifecycle.
Issuance of Procurements (RFP/RFQ/IFBs) – incorporate requirements into a scope of work and issue electronically for suppliers to develop a proposal or bid response.
Evaluations – committee or Issuing Officer evaluates supplier responses and determines potential awards.
Vendor Negotiations – discuss additional savings and productivity opportunities with selected suppliers.
Contract Creation and Management – issue contracts and provide ongoing contract management support including monitoring supplier performance, discussing cost savings initiatives, and issuing any requisite amendments and renewals.
