Why did you pursue a career in higher education?

My journey into higher education was an unexpected one, sparked by a deep admiration for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This passion led me to an incredible opportunity at Cheyney University, the nation’s first HBCU, which ultimately launched my career in higher education.

What first sparked your interest in DIVERSITY, EQUITY & Inclusion?

My interest in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion began with a desire to connect with colleagues across the institution to promote lasting change. I am committed to building community, challenging the status quo, and fostering a culture of growth that supports everyone.

Years of work in higher education later, what keeps you motivated?

After almost a decade of working in higher education, I am continually inspired by the success stories I witness and by the transformative power of education. Hearing from former students who have graduated and are thriving in their chosen fields is deeply rewarding. Education has truly served as their passport to a future filled with endless possibilities.

What are your top priorities as ASSISTANT VICE chancellor?

My top priorities center on three things: Listen, Simplify, and Empower.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I am passionate about traveling, photography, and outdoor activities. Exploring new destinations allows me to experience different cultures and landscapes, while photography lets me capture those moments and memories. Engaging in outdoor activities keeps me energized and connected with nature, making every adventure even more fulfilling.
